1 1
Come on little devil Be my .... Yeah !
Verse 2 is similar to verse 1. Except bars 5 and 6 use C5,
As shown in fill 1 (the timing is the same as a bar containing D5). Bars 7
And 8 also include an overdub (by guitar 1), shown as Riff 1.
B - bend a full tone (2 frets)
Mb - micro-bend (usually 1/4 tone - see record for details)
YbZ - bend the note at fret Y to the same pitch
As the note found at fret Z
R - release previous bend
Y[Z]- Play the note at fret Y which has been previously bent
To the same pitch as that found on fret Z. (The bend
Is silent when playing this note)
/ - slide up
\ - slide down
X - mute with palm of picking hand
Ph - 'pinched' harmonic
Vib- vibrato
Notes
------
The intro riff is based on a blues shuffle pattern in the key of D.
It is also used in the 'break', twice in the guitar solo, snippets
Of it are used in the overdubs.
In the verses, guitar 2 plays powerchords. The D5 powerchords fall
Within beat 2 for each bar, and F5 and C5 fall on beats 1 and 3,
Respectively. Guitar 1 is used to add overdubs - based on the intro
Riff. Verse 1 is 11 bars, and verse 2 is 14 bars long.
Both choruses are the same. Guitar 1 plays chords in the first position
And portions of the intro riff, the chords should be raked slightly.
Guitar 2 plays the usual D5 backing. The outro is also very similar to
The choruses.
In the guitar solo there are 3 guitars. Guitar 1 plays the actual solo,
Guitar 2 plays the backing rhythm, and guitar 3 plays the intro riff.
The guitar solo begins in the key of A. Guitar 1 plays a single-string
Version of the intro riff, transposed to the key of A, for 2 bars. The
Solo then uses A-minor pentatonic, up to bar 9. At this point the it
Modulates back to the key of D, using D-minor pentatonic. Bars 9 and 10
Use notes common to A-minor and D-minor pentatonic.
Technically, it isn't very difficult solo - so long as you have a basic
Mastery of rock guitar techniques such as slides and bends - and a bit
Of fluency to go with it.
The record has been mixed in a way that makes the parts easy to hear.
Guitar 1 is mixed onto the left stereo channel (with a distant echo in
The right). The basic backing track for the verses and chorus, played by
Guitar 2, is mixed onto the right channel.
